Urartian Inscription of Taşköprü

Taşköprü (A 9-5)

The rock inscription is located less than a meter above the current ground level in a rocky ravine behind the village of Taşköprü, which lies approximately 500 meters west of the southern tip of Lake Çıldır. The eight-line inscription is carved on a flattened surface 26.5 cm high and 82.5 cm wide.

Transliteration:
dhal-di-ni-ni al-su-i-ši-ni
mdsar5-du-ú-ri-i-še
mar-giš-ti-hi-ni-še a-li-e
4  i-ú KURú-hi-me-a-li₁₂ ha-u-bi
5  bi-du-ia-še i-ku-ka-ni KASKAL
6  ha-ú-bi URUma-qa-al-tú-u-ni
7  ʾa-še ú-e-di-a-ni
8  pa-ru-bi KURbi-a-na-i-di

Translation:
(1) Through the greatness of the god Haldi, Sarduri, son of Argišti, says: (4) when I conquered the land Uhimeali, during my way back(?) in the same campaign I conquered the city Maqaltuni, I deported men and women to the Bia lands.”
