Urartian Inscription of Garni

Garni (A 8-12)

The inscription is carved on a freestanding, irregularly shaped stone—apparently the upper part of a reused ancient Vishap stele—found at the ancient Armenian fortress of Garni, approximately 20 km east of Yerevan. The upper left section is obliquely broken. The stone is 153 cm high, 79 cm wide at the level of the inscription, 70 cm wide at the base, and 40–42 cm thick. The seven-line inscription is in the mid-section of the stone.
